Vision, Values & Curriculum

Vision:
Flood Kids is a movement of hope and healing where kids can: Experience God Learn to love Jesus Embrace His truths Values – Safety, Relationships, Age-Appropriate Bible Teaching, Creativity and Fun! Mission – We aim to disciple children to follow Jesus and live a life of faith, community and action:

Curriculum:
The curriculum we use for our elementary program is called LifeKids. The LifeKids team and partner ministries create colorful, Bible-based thematic lessons for elementary students of all ages. The Flood Kids team helps the curriculum come to life through interactive activities, games and crafts.

Current Elementary Unit: Spread The Word
What’s the most important thing we can share? The Good News about Jesus Christ! Sharing is caring. Everyone knows that, but the most important thing we can share is our faith. In this three-part series, kids learn to share faith by talking about Jesus, living a life that reflects Him, loving others the way God does, and by sharing stories of how God has changed us. Let’s share our faith together!

Bible Verse Memorization

Our weekly lessons include a Bible verse to memorize. Bible Verse memorization is encouraged but optional. The extent that children participate in the Bible Verse memorization is based on their developmental abilities and their parents' judgment. All Verses can be modified to any extent needed and all elementary children have the option of reciting the verse to a volunteer or to their parents. Each time a verse is recited, children are able to choose a prize from the prize bin.

Courage

Compared to Bible heroes and superheroes, it may seem like a regular kid might not have courage. But in this unit, we'll learn what courage really is and how God can empower all of us when we trust in Him. Courage is bravery in the face of fear, doing what's right even when no one else is, never giving up on directions God has given us, praying to see God's promises come true, and giving up everything in our lives as a sacrifice to Him.

Week one main point: God gives me courage to face fear.

Week one verse: "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you" Psalm 56:3

Week two main point: God gives me courage to face fear.
