16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Does it Really Matter that God is Trinity?

I. Because God is Trinity, God is Love.
Matthew 28:16-17

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

1. There is one God and only one.
2. This God not only exists but subsists eternally in three distinct persons.
3. The three persons are equally divine in essence and attributes.
II. Because God is Trinity, You are Claimed by an Unbreakable Love.
Matthew 28:19

III. Because God is Trinity, His mission is Personal and so is Ours.

"Lord Jesus, let me live today in Your grace.
Father, root me today in Your love.
Holy Spirit, draw me today into Your fellowship.
And send me to embody Your love to someone else."

- How have you typically thought about the Trinity? Has it felt central to your faith, confusing, abstract, or disconnected from everyday life? How does Matthew 28:16–20 connect the Trinity to God’s love and mission?
- In what way is it good news that God is not fundamentally “powerful” or “the Creator,” but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? How does this shape the way you understand who God is at the deepest level?
- If God is eternally love because God is Trinity, how does that challenge or deepen your view of God’s heart toward you? Where do you most need to receive the love of the Father, the grace of the Son, and the fellowship of the Spirit right now?
- Jesus says we are baptized into “the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” What does it mean to you that the triune God has placed His name and claim of love on you?
- How can the good news that the triune God seeks and claims you shape your self-understanding this week? What joys, challenges, disappointments, or pressures does this truth put into perspective?
- The relational God sends us into relational mission. Who is one person God may be inviting you to move toward this week with embodied love, encouragement, service, forgiveness, or witness?
